The Great Westmoreland County Fish Fry Bracket Is Here
Greensburg Times is launching the first-ever Westmoreland County Fish Fry Bracket — a 16-location tournament to find the best fish fry. Nominations open now.
Every Lent, the debate starts the same way. Someone at work says their parish has the best fish fry in the county. Someone else disagrees. Nobody has proof.
This year, we’re settling it.
Greensburg Times is launching the first-ever Westmoreland County Fish Fry Bracket — a 16-location, single-elimination tournament to find the best fish fry in the county. Nominations are open now through Wednesday, February 25.
How It Works
Drop your favorite fish fry in the comments on our Facebook post. The top 16 nominated locations will be seeded into the bracket. Starting the second Friday of Lent, our panel will taste-test each matchup while you vote on Facebook to decide who advances.
Eight matchups become four. Four become two. One fish fry wins it all.
Why We’re Doing This
Westmoreland County has more fish fries per square mile than just about anywhere in western Pennsylvania. Church basements, fire halls, VFW posts — the options are endless and the quality is real. This community built that tradition. We want to celebrate it.
How to Nominate
Head to the Greensburg Times Facebook page and drop your nomination in the comments. Every like, share, and nomination also enters you to win a free fish sandwich.
Nominations close February 25. The bracket drops shortly after.
